Ok I am writing a story for language about a boy who lives in the great depression and lives with his grandparents and a lot of brothers and sisters. Are these olden day names or should I change a few ok for boys it's Elijah and Martin for the grandfathers and for the grandmothers its Isabella and Martha. For the parents it is Matthew and Marilyn. For the sisters its Evelyn, Edith, Alice Jean, Kelly, Sandy and Lucille. For the brothers it's Michael, Warren, Seth, Ethan, Maxwell, Quentin, and Andrew. And the main boy in the book is Zach.

Open Question: Why were fire lizards needed?
Why were flame lizards needed in Dragonsong by Anne McCaffrey? I just finished reading the book and I can honestly say i have no idea. Why was there a sudden need for many flame lizards? I know that Dragonsong is part of a trilogy and the answer may be in the other two books, but I rather know the answer to this question now. (It's been bugging me for the whole day.) It's a romance novel about a lady who goes into either a tyrant leaders' prison or a resistance camp, I forget who is who, to rescue the leader of either the resistance or the not-tyrant leader, because she wants him to keep her brother from helping... Open Question: What is wrong with my eyesight?
So, if on that chart thing with the letters that receive smaller each level, i can look down pretty far, so obviously the problem is not that. I can look things close to me as well. My problem is looking around a general scene it is very blurry and im constantly straining to look things. Also i receive headaches a lot and nauseous and i think the eyesight has to do with it. Reading a text book is really difficult because my eyeballs skip across the lines without my controlling it and although i can make out the letters, its blurry. It never used to be this way before ive always had perfect vision, but in the past probably 6 months its gotten seriously horrible. does anyone know what it could possibly be because i dont think it's nearsighted or farsighted issues.

Open Question: does he like me? (interested, at least?)?
there's a boy in my school (we'll call him Trey for now haha) who's really cute. i've liked him for a while, and we look each other around school like every day. I've noticed that the two of us make eye contact every the time now. he doesn't grin or anything, and he doesn't frown. he just has a chill look on his face, if you know what i mean. however, we keep making eye contact. one time on the bus, we held contact for a good 3 seconds. he glances my way often, and when i was talking to a pal today, i saw him glancing at me out of the corner of my eye. another time, it was the end of the day, and everyone was at, or going to, their lockers to pack up. i was kneeling on the floor to receive my books, and he's walking to his locker. and on his way, he looks down at me while walking, and we make eye contact. twice. sooo...yeah. he's never said anything to me, but i'm not sure. so what do you think? does he like me, or is he just curious?

Open Question: POLL: Would you read a book with this plot?
Set in a fantasy world. The story revolves around a guy in his mid 20's who gets a job as a trainer at an academy that produces warriors, hunters, mages, and healers. He plans to corrupt his students and use them for his dark plan. Each trainer is assigned six students.
And this instructor's job is to discipline and drill them and take them on missions. A trainer and his/her students are what is known as a guild in this novel.
It centers around this huge war that's going on thanks to these two different groups of villiains - the Setsunai and the Kanashi.
Oh, and the man dude is still human and does sort of eventually grow some attachment to his students!
It's going to be third person omniscient so it's going to be from the student and trainer's point of view!
No haha it's not in Japan..I made up the word Kanashi and as for Setsunai I really did take that from the japanese language but I don't look why that matters!

Once the trees smiled a silent grin
As if they knew what laid within
Their laughter was seen by every, but unheard
The things they spoke, their words were slurred
The cabin lay just around the pass
The lake was still, as still as glass
But listening still, perhaps one could
Just barely hear the axe upon wood
He was chopping; she was knitting
He was standing; she was sitting
The wood he clip piled up, bit by bit
And she, still knitting, would contentedly sit
He finished his chopping, and called her outside
She put down her knitting and went to his side
She bent down to pick up the wood he had clip
He watched her a moment, then he too bent,
But...
As he bends, he lifts his axe
And with a swish of the blade, her body goes slack
Down she crumples, her head goes rolling
After it, he went, not running, but strolling
No need to rush, he had plenty of time
To dispose of the body and conceal the crime
He picked up the head and the body, as well
And she, to the earth, said her final farewell
He buried her below the cabin that night
Then he packed down the ground, and made sure it was tight
Then back to the cabin, he slipped into bed

"rush!" he shouts into the receiver,

When the brave men arrive, he shoves them inside
And tells them to keep his possesions.
Clocks and keys and wind-up toys,
And other odd obsessions.
They every rush inside, not one stays behind.
There's no need to watch the outside, it seems.
And as a result, when the man starts on flame,
No one can hear his screams.
When the flame's put out, and the trinkets are saved,
the firemen return outside.
And there, they find the smoky remains
Of the man, his body quite fried.
If the man had not asked for his toys to be saved,
Things he did not need,
Then he would be alive today
Instead of consumed by his fiery greed.
So next time you odor smoke in your home,
The beginnings of a flame,
Remember the story of this needy man
And forget your material desires.

I don't know why but at my school i receive dissed and dogged on by guys, like today i was hit across the face with a text book from a guy for no reason at every (it hurt badly). Open Question: Need help! Please? Urgent!?
Okay, so I am 12. I am 5'4-5'5, and I weigh around 165 pounds. I am grossly overweight, and I hate it. What is a good diet and lifestyle so I can lose 45 pounds by the end of the school year (June) or sooner? I have to lose this, I am so self-conscious. I do the kinect (dance central 2)
For a diet I am trying to eat 500 calories a day.
Breakfast - 1/2 cup plain cheerios w/ 1/2 cup skim milk
Lunch - half a pb and j sandwich w/ apple or banana or fruit like that
Dinner - 1/2 what I usually eat
I can't stick to this, I need your help, please! I will do anything, except for buy programs and books. I am in my school's dance program.
I adore crop tops, I think forever21, delia's, and stuff like that is soooo cute but I would just look ugly wearing them.
My main problem is snacking and big portions, and I already drink skim milk.

Open Question: What is her problem tonight?
I'm currently in town visiting my Mom for two weeks, and tonight she completley lost it,my mom had a bit too much to drink and she went into full on attack mode with me. She started off by yelling and screaming at me, and then she proceeded over the course of the next hour to call me many vile names such as "pr_ck!" "low life" "your just like your dad" (she repeated this verse the most tonight), "idiot", "a_hole" etc. She also walked up to me and slapped me across the face, that was my breaking point and I told her I would be contacting the police, that is when she took my cell phone from me as well as the landline so I couldnt make any calls. I demanded she return my cell phone, and that is when she chucked both the phone at me (luckily she missed), and then she walked up to me again and lightly put one hand on my throat. At this point, I walked out to chilly off, I came back an hour later and I am in another area of the home.
This isn't some out of the blue instance for her, throughout my childhood she was similar to what she was like tonight, as in always belitting me and using very vile name in the book to toss it at me.
I receive that she is stressed right now (shes in the process of moving, suing an employer for money etc) but I'm sorry just because your stressed does not give a person the right to treat others badly. Believe me, I have talked to her time and time about her extremely abusive behaviour throughout the years and she comes up with justificiations like "I work my a_ss off every day" or "nobody appreciates me" (those are her two favourite justifications). Tonight her justification for slapping me was "you deserved it", yet I did NOTHING to provoke her.
I guess my question is what should I do next?

Open Question: Feeling awkward for saying thank you? ?
I have had this teacher for two years first in Chem and then in physics. They were fun, spontaneous, quirky and really chilly. They were honest with us , about most things they were an open book. In the letter I for example told them how I was extremely fortunate to have been their student and what an honor and privilege it was. I thanked them for giving me wish in myself, for saving me from going into a career I would have hated etc. This teacher gives so much effort and adore into their work. I just wanted to give something back. Something in my heart had been thinking long and difficult about giving a letter for about 2 months I pondered the idea until the course terminated. I then on the last day gave it to the teacher.
Now when I look them... I ignore them ish , because I feel scared ! I don't know why I feel awkward! I know I shouldn't because it was good, what I did was the right thing to do. Please is it okay to thank them? Do teachers even appreciate this no matter what? I am so worried I made a fool of myself for saying thank you..

Open Question: Why do teachers feel the need to give so much homework?
I actually understand the importance of homework and that it really does help, but why do teachers give 2-3 hours per night. For example: read 75 pages of a book, answer questions, plus study for a quiz the next day every in one night along and do 5 other classes of homework. Isn't this a little crazy? Do they realize we have multiple other classes? We sit through classes for 6 hours, participate in clubs/activities/sports, then do homework for multiple hours. I just don't receive it.

I didn't receive well the explanation of the book...
It says afraid to = I don't want to do it because it is dangerous or the result could be bad...
afraid of = it is possible that something bad will happen ....( an accident )

because If I miss the train nothing dangerous is gonna happen so why use OF ??

Open Question: Help with a Lifetime movie?
I watched this movie maybe 6 years ago, and I'm pretty sure it was on Lifetime. It was about this killer who was murdering newlyweds. One couple was shot to death in the limo they rented and a second
couple was hunted down in the woods on their honeymoon with a crossbow and arrows. A female detective is brought in on the case, and evidence leads her to a paraplegic author whose characters die in his books the same way the couples have died. The detective manages to figure out that it is the author's young wife who committed the crimes. His wife is about ready to shoot him and she says "I have done everything for you." She is then shot to death by the police. The close of the case doesn't sit well with the detective and she eventually understands that the wife was below orders by her husband to kill the couples. The author is then arrested at the end of the film. Anyone know what movie this is? I'd really like to look it again.
